Anna With Baby Boy Nati

Jun 18, 2019 • By Be'ad Chaim

Nati (meaning 'given by God') was born a week after his due date, on June 3, 2019 and weighed a nice 3.4 kg. After her due date passed, Anna went to the hospital to be monitored and at one point, showed that the baby was in distress because labor had shown signs of having begun but was not progressing. The baby needed medical intervention and labor had to be induced. She also needed an epidural injection, which effects she is still feeling, some 2 weeks post-delivery. Thankfully, Nati is doing well now. He is being breastfed - a great start.

Anna suffers from epilepsy and takes meds to keep herself 'balanced'. She and her husband were also in a boating accident 2 years ago, so she also has a spinal cord injury as well. Anna receives a small disability allowance from National Insurance and her husband is a social worker in another city. He comes home exhausted and their older daughter (now 5 years old), who has language problems and motor coordination problems, makes serious demands on Anna's time. Anna was actually seriously considering abortion as late as 18 weeks into her pregnancy, as she felt she needed to devote herself full time to her daughter and to her husband who she felt was alienating himself from the family. She realized, however, that even a baby at the beginning of it's pre-born life has a soul and her conscience wouldn't allow her to abort with any peace.

Anna is so thankful for the support of Be'ad Chaim. Please pray for her, and for her marriage and family life to improve.
