Suzan and her husband are both refugees from Eritrea.

Jul 11, 2019 • By Be'ad Chaim

Because their Hebrew is not very good yet we had to talk through a translator. Being refugees with no status has meant they have been through a lot of challenges and difficulties since coming to Israel, not least, not knowing the language.  They have just been trying to survive as best they can.

When they discovered they were pregnant they didn’t want to abort but knew they would not be able to support this little baby on their own. They didn’t know who to turn to but then heard about Be’ad Chaim. One of our wonderful counsellors did her very best to try and help them without having a common language. It wasn’t easy but she did her best to show love and to give support to Suzan during this time.

Through your very generous sponsorship Suzan was able to become part of The Operation Moses Project. This provided her with all the new furniture she would need for her baby and also monthly vouchers for a whole year to buy the other essentials that her baby would need.  They couldn’t believe they got accepted to be part of the project and were able to receive all they have received and will be receiving in the coming year.  It really was such a blessing and made such a huge difference to them, and they are so very grateful.

On the 14th May Suzan gave birth to a precious little boy, praise The Lord both mother and baby are healthy and doing well. They absolutely love their sweet boy, Suzan is planning to stay home and take care of her baby. In the Christian Eritrean culture they name their child only after 40 days. So we will have to wait and see what name they will give to their precious son.

Praise God Suzan’s husband managed to find a cleaning job, but unfortunately he is struggling with his health and is  sick very often, for that reason he has been fired and has had to move between jobs many times. Please pray for his health and strength to work.

We would appreciate it if you keep this beautiful family in your prayers, particularly for them to receive permanent status in the country so they can fully integrate into the Israeli culture, learn Hebrew and make new friendships and connections.
