For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (Titus 2:11-14)
There is a vast difference between religion and relationship. Religion gives us rules that we must obey. Relationship changes our lives. Tough, harsh relationships may cause us to change behaviors but hearts aren’t changed. Only a relationship of grace and love will cause us to willingly leave the things of the world, to live in a new way and to look and wait for our Lord Himself. GRACE causes us to: LEAVE the WORLD/ LIVE for HIM / LOOK expectantly for His Coming. It is grace that transforms our lives. For no matter how “hard we try”, it is only a sovereign work of God in our hearts that can purify us as His children. Oh, how grateful we are for His grace. “Amazing grace how can it be that Thou my God has died for me.”
