January 2026 Newsletter

• By Sandy Shoshani

Today, the first day of 2026, we look back at the wonderful things that God has done in the past year, and we rejoice and are very glad. Nearly five hundred babies celebrated their first birthdays with cakes, balloons and uncountable hugs and kisses. Mothers and fathers who thought that having a new baby would be a terrible mistake discovered that their adorable baby son or daughter has brought unimaginable joy and laughter into their lives. With great happiness, we’re sharing photographs of birthday boys and girls: children who are alive today because their mothers made the courageous choice to continue their lives!.. Children who are alive today, in part, because of your support through prayers and generous gifts. May these photographs bring a smile to your face and gratefulness in your hearts for the wonderful things that He has done.

With deep gratitude,
Sandy

Shai and Baby Boy Eylor

Eylor celebrated his first birthday on June 13th. They had a little family celebration for him with a party in the local park. Everyone had lots of fun. His mother, Shai, is a single parent with five children. She remembers how anxious she was when she first discovered that she was pregnant with baby Eylor, how she wondered if she would manage. Now he is over a year old and such a happy little boy! He has a lot of fun with his older brothers and sisters who play with him and teach him all kinds of things. Eylor’s father comes to see him once a week, as he lives far away and can’t come more often. He would like to see him more. Shai says that Eylor is super sweet and a delightful little guy. He goes to daycare happily and she has gone back to work in a kindergarten. What seemed like a problem has turned into a blessing!

Talia and Baby Girl Sophia

Little princess Sophia is now two years old. On her first birthday, in the photo, she looks surprised, perhaps because her mom discovered on her birthday that she was expecting another baby! Her sister Nicole was born in March of this year. The two little girls are a welcome delight to Talia and her husband.

Rebecca & Baby Girl Elian

Gorgeous baby girl Elian turned one on November 18th. She loves playing with her three-year-old brother. Her mother Rebecca is deeply grateful for her lovely daughter. She says that Be’ad Chaim’s support of monthly gift cards has been a big blessing because they struggle financially with only her husband’s salary.

Dana and Baby Boy Achmed

Fun-loving Achmed had a party on September 16th with his brother, sisters and many cousins. He loved being the center of attention. His mother, Dana, is only twenty-two years old. Her youngest son was only ten months old when she discovered herself pregnant with Achmed and considered abortion. Dana’s mother strongly opposed the idea of an abortion and told her that a baby is a gift from God, that she should not do such a thing. Indeed, Achmed is a wonderful gift.

Embeba and Baby Boy Yair

Yair celebrated his first birthday on September 23rd. They celebrated by going for a meal in a restaurant which belongs to his mother Embeba’s brother. They took beautiful photos to remember the day, and as you can see, he is a handsome boy and very well cared for.

The past year has been challenging because Yair’s father is in prison, so his mom has been bringing her son up on her own. She had to return to work as soon as possible, so he is in daycare, where he seems happy and content. He likes to play with the other toddlers there. Like many other boys, his favorite toys are cars! Embeba shared her deep gratitude for all that Be’ad Chaim, her counselor and our donors have done. She says: “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a blessing to me and helping me to make the right decision and choose life for my precious son.”

Elia and Baby Girl Tamar

Tamar celebrated her first birthday on June 21st. Her mom Elia shared:

She is a curious girl, and makes us laugh all the time with her antics. I feel so blessed to have such a sweet and amazing little daughter. There is no doubt that children fill up a huge vacuum in our hearts, and I wish that everyone in the world could have the experience of becoming a mother and raising children, because Tamar is the best thing that ever happened to me. There is no greater love than the love a mother feels for her child, and it's worth everything to have her in my life. Tamar is just a perfect treasure and I had so much support from you, which I appreciate very much. I didn’t know what to do when I discovered that I was pregnant, and it was thanks to your support and encouragement that I was able to keep my baby. I couldn’t have done it without you. I hope that, with God’s help, you will be able to help many other women like me.

Hannah and Baby Girl Ilay

Sweet Ilay celebrated her first birthday on September 18th with her mom and teenage brother and sister. Despite the age gap, Ilay brings the teens comfort and a sweet, calming presence. It hasn’t been an easy year, and at times mother Hannah has really struggled with being a single parent to three children. When she became pregnant, her partner had demanded that she have an abortion, and she had almost agreed because he put so much pressure on her. Now, Hannah is so proud as she watches Ilay taking her first steps and remembers how she was almost persuaded to give up on her. She is so happy that she found the strength to resist.

Keren and Baby Boy Yigal Chaim

Yigal celebrated his birthday on August 5th with his six brothers and sisters and mother Keren. Yigal was born with a health condition due to lack of folic acid, requiring several surgeries this year. It’s been challenging for Keren to keep up with the many doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, and somehow continue working and caring for all her children.

Our help and assistance were very significant for her: not only the practical help but also the emotional support she got from her caring counselor. She sometimes came to our local office in tears as she fought like a lion to take care of her children. Yigal is now progressing well and developing accordingly for his age.

Keren wrote:

My name is Keren, and it was truly by God’s grace that I discovered Be’ad Chaim. Your amazing counselor gave me complete confidence to continue my pregnancy, and encouraged me so much, giving me a loving hug whenever I needed it. I thank my sponsor with my whole heart for supporting me throughout the entire year. Thank you, dear friend, for helping my baby and me.

Einat and Baby Girl Agam

With dark, shiny eyes, Agam celebrated her birthday on March 31st during the war. Her mom, Einat, says: “Being a mother isn’t easy, as it’s a big responsibility, but I am so happy that I turned to you for help! Despite my prior doubts and fears, Agam is my greatest gift, as she is so pure, so sweet and so good.” Einat has now gone back to work and Agam is in daycare. She loves to play with the other children and enjoys being there. Einat says that much has changed over the past year, as there was so much uncertainty in the country. It was very helpful for her to know that there was one thing she could always count on: getting the voucher every month to buy diapers, formula and other baby essentials without having to worry. It took a big weight off her mind.

Leila and Baby Girl Liah

Energetic Liah had a party on June 8th with her eight-year-old brother, five-year-old sister, mother and grandmother with whom they live. Liah’s father is living in the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority and doesn’t have a visa to enter Israel. This puts pressure on the marriage relationship, as mother Leila has to care for their three children alone. Despite all this, Leila is extremely thankful for all the help she has received over the last year. It has made a huge difference knowing that she could count on getting monthly support from Be’ad Chaim to cover the cost of diapers and formula. It was a real lifeline for her. Thankfully, she is now back at work and is more financially stable again.
