Sandy's Devotional

Mar 16, 2020 • By Sandy Shoshani

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in you.

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

(Psalm 143:8-10)

David, like an artist, paints a beautiful portrait here of unfailing trust in the Lord. Picture the sun rising with new hope, “the morning bringing word of mercy and grace”. Imagine the Lord holding your hand, as you hide behind His long robe. Imagine Jesus, leading you as He “took the blind man by the hand and led him. Then spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, ‘Can you see anything now?’" (Mark 8).

During these uncertain days, some of us are seeing fear, disappointment, perhaps loneliness and isolation. The Lord wants to open our eyes to see His perfect plan, His new hope, His unfailing love, and purpose. God wants us to be able to stand firmly on level ground so that we can be useful to others who have not yet seen Him. Let us turn to Him, pray to Him for the sick and their caretakers, for those who are suffering from a job and financial loss, for our governments to make wise decisions, and that God’s glory will be revealed to all the earth. May we be His vessels of love and calm in the midst of confusion.
