Miri and Her Baby

Miri is a lovely Muslim woman. She is divorced and has 2 daughters, ages 9 and 10. Unfortunately her ex husband took both their daughters and they now live with him. Since March 2019 he has cut all contact with Miri and doesn’t allow her to see her daughters at all. Miri decided to hire a lawyer to fight her case legally, and now she has a court date for the 8th July. Miri is disabled and has to use a walking stick to support herself. She is receiving financial support from the national insurance for her disability. 

Miri’s family cut all contact with her about 13 years ago. Since then she has made many attempts to restore the relationship with them, but sadly they have all failed. 

Miri started a new relationship with a man and everything seemed to be going well until she discovered she was pregnant. He immediately said she should have an abortion but Miri didn’t feel peace about doing this. She has had two miscarriages and two abortions in the past. 

Miri was referred to Be’ad Chaim through our welfare system, and through your very generous sponsorship Miri was able to become part of The Operation Moses Project. This provided her with new furniture for her baby and also monthly vouchers for a whole year to buy the other essentials that her baby would need.

On the 5th June 2019, several weeks earlier than planned, Miri gave birth to a precious little girl weighing 2.960 Kg. She called her Ma'ayan. It was a natural birth and both Miri and baby Ma'ayan stayed in the hospital for 8 days and then were released home. 

Miri is now suffering from postpartum depression and is currently on medication to help her cope with her condition. Miri said that the medication is helping  and she is already feeling a bit better.

Praise God Miri’s neighbor is helping her, and she also has an assistant coming to help her around the house and who also does all the shopping for her. The Welfare department sends someone every now and then to talk and counsel Miri while she goes through the early days after the birth. Miri is not in contact with Ma'ayan’s father. She doesn’t even know if he knows she kept the baby. 

She didn’t express it in words but I could hear that she feels lonely. Lets pray for a good partner and a good friend for her to share her life with. 

Miri is so deeply grateful for all the love and support she has received. It really meant so much to her, and made a huge difference.
