Salima is a lovely muslim woman, who has had a difficult life. Her mother died when she was very young and she doesn’t have a good relationship with the rest of her family. Salima married and had 3 children, then sadly she got divorced. After this she began a new relationship and got pregnant with her 4th child. Her partner pressured her to have an abortion and was also threatening to kill her if she kept the baby. It was at that time, 3 years ago that Salima first heard about Be’ad Chaim. She contacted us and we were able to help her move into a safe home far away from her partner and provided all the basic things for her newborn at the time.
Since then Salima has met another man, a man she truly loves and wants to build her family with, the problem is that she is a divorced woman with 4 children and he has never married. His family is strongly against this relationship. They are a well known family, and for them it is shameful for their son to marry a woman like Salima. However, they did eventually get married without his parents knowing.
Everything got more complicated when Salima realized she was pregnant again. Her partner, his family and Salima’s father were all against this pregnancy, as a result she is no longer in contact with her dad. Everyone was putting pressure on her to have an abortion. Her partner’s father even paid for a private clinic for her to have an abortion. They invited a shech (Religious figure) to affirm to her that it would be alright to have an abortion according to the koran. Later she discovered that this was a lie, as it is not permitted at all under any circumstances.
Salima was so confused and really didn’t know what to do, how to go against everyone around her. She called our Hotline and shared her situation and one of our counselors encouraged her and assured her that it really is good and natural for a mother to want to keep and protect her baby. She reassured her that we were there to help and support her. After this phone call Salima received the strength to go against everyone and keep her baby. Through your very generous sponsorship Salima was able to become part of The Operation Moses Project. This provided her with new furniture for her baby and also monthly vouchers for a whole year to buy the other essentials that her baby would need.
After Salima’s decision, her husband decided to divorce her, they separated and were in the process of legalising this
On the 2nd May 2019 Salima gave birth to a precious little girl, weighing 3.500. She named her Rital. Praise God both mother and baby are doing well. There was another miracle that happened as well. Salima’s husband wanted to attend the birth, and he was so amazed by his wife through the birthing process and then when he saw his new baby daughter he fell in love with her straight away. Praise God, he no longer wants to divorce Salima and he has accepted little Rital as his daughter.
They still can’t live together as his family is very much against this relationship, wanting them to do a DNA test to see if the little girl is really their son’s daughter. Salima is very happy to go through it as she knows who the father is.
Today Salima can’t be thankful enough for the strength and courage she has received through this one phone call, courage to choose life! She said “Thank you so much to Be’ad Chaim and my donor, God loves you so much and I pray he will bless you abundantly. You are bringing lives into the world, thank you!”. Salima was so touched by all the support she received that now she wants to talk openly to other women and help them to choose life.
Thank you very much for your kind and generous support and for your continued prayers for Salima and her family.
