Shir is married and has a little daughter called Oren who is 3.5 years old. Both Shir and her husband came from wealthy families and so growing up they lacked for nothing. Unfortunately after they got married they made a couple of bad choices financially and found themselves in a financial crisis. Sadly, many years on from that, they are still trying to get back on their feet.
When Shir found out she was pregnant again she was adamant that she would have an abortion, firstly because of the financial situation but also because she had suffered a lot during her previous pregnancy with excessive sickness and that had led to depression. She really wasn’t ready to go through it again.
Shir first contacted Be’ad Chaim through our Hotline. She had a conversation with one of our wonderful counselor who encouraged her to see there was an alternative. Through that love and assurance that they were not having to go through this alone and that Be’ad Chaim would love to help, Shir decided to keep her baby. It was through your very generous sponsorship that Shir was then able to become part of the Operation Moses Project. This provided her with all the furniture she would need for the new baby and also monthly vouchers for a whole year to buy the other essentials.
On the 19th April 2019 Shir gave birth to a precious little boy, they named him Evyathar. It was a very difficult and long natural birth, precious Evyathar was born in his sack, which then burst once Shir took him in her arms. Praise the Lord both mother and baby are doing well, and Shir and her husband love their sweet little boy.
Please keep Shir in your prayers. She has been suffering from depression since the beginning of her pregnancy and is still very fearful about their financial state. Besides that, she is struggling to take care of both children. Her daughter Oren is very jealous and wants all her mom’s attention whenever Shir is doing anything with her new little brother. Shir is really struggling with this new dynamic in the family.
Praise God Shir and her husband have a good and supportive relationship “We are a good team” She said. They both try to be very open about their struggles and emotions in this new season as parents to a newborn and a toddler. Shir’s husband is working very long hours and is struggling to help with house work once he is home. Please pray for strength for both of them.
They don’t have much support from their families but Shir’s mother does bring them groceries from time to time. Shir does have a close friend she can share her heart with which is very helpful to her in this vulnerable season.
Both Shir and her husband are so deeply grateful for all the support they have received and will be receiving in the coming year, “Your support is incredible and so significant for us”.
Thank you so very much for your kind and generous support and for your continued prayers for Shir and her beautiful family.
