Sivan - Doria

Nov 18, 2019 • By Be'ad Chaim

Sivan is a young single mother to two precious girls, Miel (2) and now the newborn.  Sivan had her first daughter when she was only 19 years old.  She really struggled with motherhood. She was overwhelmed with waking up in the night hearing her daughter cry, and dealing with her baby when she was sick or had a tummy ache.  As a result her own mother became Miel’s main caregiver.  Then recently Sivan’s mother had another baby herself, and became overwhelmed herself having to take care of everyone.  Then the case was taken up by the Social Services, and the situation ended up in court.

The judge decided to send Sivan into a woman's home, which is similar to a shelter, where Sivan was able to be nurtured, and receive the help she needed, and also learn how to take care of her baby and deal with the difficulties.

When Sivan discovered she was pregnant again she was very surprised and wanted to have an abortion. Sivan was in a very bad relationship with Dorias father who didn’t seem to want to have anything to do with his daughter.  Sivan was scared to be a single mother of two small children with no support at all.  She booked an appointment with the abortion comitee but then after giving it a bit more thought changed her mind. She shared that she had never had an abortion before and hopes she never will.  Sivan knew she needed help and we at Be’ad Chaim had supported her with her first child, so she decided to turn to us again and we were very happy to help again.

It was then through your very generous sponsorship Sivan was able to become part of The Operation Moses Project. This provided her with a new twin stroller and also monthly vouchers for a whole year to buy other essentials that her baby would need.

On the 28th July 2019 Sivan gave birth to a precious little girl, she named her Doria. It was a quick and easy birth, Sivan was released from the hospital and got back to her normal daily routine very quickly. She feels that this time, the whole experience of giving birth and parenting has been like  a redeeming experience to all her very bad memories from when she first became a mother.  She feels that she is truly flourishing, and much better  equipped and ready.  She feels calm and in control, knowing how to respond to the needs of her children and be a better mother.

Doria’s father came to the hospital after the birth and acknowledged her as his daughter.  He seems to be very interested and wanted to be involved.  He is calling daily to see how his daughter is doing.  Because  he lives  far away he isn’t able to visit a lot.  Sivan is very surprised but feels very blessed he wants to be involved in their daughters life.

Sivan is still living in the shelter but she is hoping to be released in about 7 months and then she will be able to find a job and an apartment for her and her precious daughters.

Please pray for Sivan during this season to receive and learn all she needs in the women's shelter and to be open for more healing, restoration and change.

Sivan is so deeply grateful for all the help and support she is receiving again.  It really has made such a huge difference to her situation, and she is very thankful indeed.

Thank you very  much for your kind and generous support and for your continued prayers for Sivan and her precious family.
